Chelsea Blake

Chelsea Blake’s country folk songs sing the sounds that tears cry, the melodies of lessons learned and the stories of the people along the way. Her lyrics open your heart to feel the things you don’t want to know are there and her voice softens that hardened edge from the harshness of the world.

Cigarbox Man

Cigarbox Man developed his sound and was discovered on the streets of Santiago a few years ago, when he won a busking competition and wound up playing on the main stage at Lollapalooza. He moved to the US in the summer of 2022 and is preparing to release his first full length album, which was produced in partnership with a legendary team that includes Tomás Salcedo (Guitars, Fantastic Negrito), Nahuel Bronzini (Mixing Engineer, Fantastic Negrito), Thomas Pridgen (The Mars Volta, Residente), Uriah Duffy (Whitesnake), Karl Perazzo (Carlos Santana), and many other well known musicians from the Bay Area.

Double Goat

Kevin Shaw (née Double Goat) is a Berkeley-based musician and artist originally from Seattle, with roots in Taiwan and China. Working by day as a designer and researcher in healthcare, by night he writes songs that borrow from a wide range of influences: surf, Brill Building, folk, Mandopop, and maybe a hint of bossa nova. His multilingual music dips from English into Mandarin and back. He is joined on drums by friend Dylan Portelance, also from Seattle. He is excited to plug into the Bay Area music scene and connect with audiences and artists.

Gamelan Sekar Jaya

Gamelan Sekar Jaya is a nonprofit organization dedicated to artistic exchange between Bali, Indonesia and the United States. Sekar Jaya has offered free and sliding scale performances, classes, workshops and more at their South Berkeley banjar community center and throughout the Bay Area for over forty years. Visit www.gsj.org to learn more about Balinese music and dance in the Bay Area!

Grupo Tribulacíon

Grupo Tribulación is a collaboration between friends who bring their own style and personality. The band originally formed in 2016 at the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts. Gianfranco Baltazar, Jerome Herrera, and Charlie Thollander were all high school seniors when they wanted to experiment with their talents. When they came together, their music created a synthesis between music genres: Peruvian, Jazz, Pop, and Classical. The band’s newest artist, Phi Zi, is a Vietnamese singer-songwriter and music producer. Grupo Tribulación is a nexus between music from around the world, as well as an imagining of music in its unbridled creativity.

Mary Nguyen is a rising senior majoring in music and molecular and cell biology studying piano and composition with Erika Oba, Myra Melford, and Dann Zinn. Marcelo Manriquez is a rising senior majoring in music studying bass and performance with Kai Eckhardt, Ricardo Peixoto, and Ted Moore. Zach Lem is a rising sophomore studying business and playing under the guidance of Dann Zinn. The three can be seen performing jazz around UC Berkeley’s campus and various venues throughout Berkeley.

Nahuel Bronzini

Nahuel Bronzini is an Argentinean producer and songwriter based out of Berkeley. Nahuel has been producing music for other artists throughout the Bay Area for the past 10 years and, since 2020, he started pouring all those musical experiences into his own music which led to writing 2 albums worth of songs. This is his first live show in his hometown and is truly excited to share his music here. Some of these songs were born at this very park.

Nalamora

We are an East Bay-based, all-original rock/reggae/glam-punk/rap/pop band with a focus on inspiring positive change. The singer/guitarist/songwriter Neil Nyberg started the band and it’s been going since 2007. The band is looking to play for events around the world.

Space Goat

Space Goat is a band of young, rambunctious doctoral candidates that formed two years ago when they realized that the sounds they made were incredibly funky. Focusing on compositions by the great American composers J Garcia, P Nelson, G Washington Jr, and others, we hope to get your booty shaking. As a special guest, we will be featuring the soprano and woodwind multi-instrumentalist Sonia Urquidi, who will be blasting you into outer space with us on this beautiful Saturday afternoon.

IG: @lisa_yoshida_violin

Lisa Yoshida is a violinist, composer, and educator in the Orange County area.

She will be starting her PhD studies at the University of California Irvine for the Integrated Composition, Improvisation, and Technology program this Fall. She hopes to research and curate a project that combines her curiosity in performer and audience relationships through interactive electronics, and the dynamics of what it means to be Japanese-American/Asian-American growing up in Southern California/USA specifically through the events surrounding Executive Order 9066.

Lisa graduated from California State University Long Beach with a Masters of Music in Violin Performance under the tutelage of Moni Simeonov. She has participated in Domaine Forget Music Festival’s New Music Program, and in Nief-Norf’s Composer-Performer-Improvisor summit in 2021. Her composition for solo violin and electronics titled Finally Alone (2021) has been selected as a Finalist and in the Top 10 for Black House Collective’s 2021 Soloist Competition.

Aside from music, Lisa loves indoor rock climbing, hiking, and watching baseball!
